Abolitionist Planning Resources

Posted On Patreon Aug 16, 2020

Hi all, coming in with some resources and some updates.

UPDATES:

We are finally finished with edits of our fifth zine, EmboDIY Disruption! Eeek, this is a good issue and I can't wait to share with our top tier supporters! If you'd like a free copy and pdf of the zine, please consider moving up your support for the zine while getting all the freebies! Fingers crossed we will have a pdf delivered here for ya'll this week to have before the rest of the world sets it's eyes upon it by the end of August! Also, for those receiving benefits, please update your mailing addresses if they have changed!

In other long held exciting news... we are in the process of merging with another feminist media outlet. CZ will still be shredding the patriarchy, only that we are growing and need a team and some fund raising to build this space and support BIPOC creatives in cycling and the outdoors. My role as editor of cyclista zine has brought me so much joy and it's been my long held dream to create a collaborative publishing space through this work so voices that have been erased or ignored can have support and an outlet. Don't fret though, more announcements on this are to come and the zine will still exist just at a slower pace.

RESOURCES:

On decolonization and abolition of urban planning. Why am I focused on this? Because at the heart of CZ we are advocates for mobility justice and bike equity cannot ignore the bodies on bikes that move through spaces that are the regulated by exclusionary planning policies rooted in white supremacy and capitalism. If you're interested in planning and interested in alternative planning knowledges outside of economic development and towards restoration and resiliency, these abundant resources are for you! Enjoy!
