Pride Was A Riot

First Pride was a riot against police brutality, not a rainbow-washing capitalism exercise.

What are brands doing for BIPOC LGBTQ folx who experience police violence and are facing legislation attacking their access to sport and healthcare? How are they actively including and advocating for them?

Instead of giving your money to performative companies, support actual Black, Brown, and Native LGBTQ people. We want RADICAL QUEER LIBERATION, NOT RAINBOW CAPITALISM! 🏳️‍🌈

It is important to remember the history of Pride, started from the Stonewall Uprising. The uprising was sprung by LGBTQ+ people, specifically trans women of color, who were fed up of the brutality they faced from police in their communities and the often unfair raiding of their bar - The Stonewall Inn.

Trek hosts Pride Rides yet continues to sell bikes to police and stay silent on police brutality and anti-trans laws. How can you say you support oppressed people and yet continue to do business with an oppressive force? You can’t.

There is no toeing the line.
Divest or bust.
